What is Americorps?

There are five Teaching Artists that have come to the Roaring Fork Valley thanks to the partnership of Americorps and the Aspen Music Festival and School. Each of us works with a different school in the community: the Lead Guitar program, general music at Basalt Elementary, the choral program at Basalt High School, the band program at Basalt Middle School, and the Beginning Strings program.

That's the tagline of Americorps. And that is exactly what the Colorado Fellows have been doing in 2017-2018. Between putting on recitals for the community, reaching out to literally hundreds of students per fellow, and creating lasting relationships through and with music.
